Gorgeous, well-made coat!

When I saw the review on this coat, I was close to not purchasing it. I'm so glad I didn't listen to the previous reviewer! It's a gorgeous, well-made coat! All the details, such as the ribbed pattern and zippers, make it so unique. The wool also felt high quality, as the fabric was heavy, and seemed like it would keep me very warm. Unfortunately, they didn't have my size (0) and the 2 was too big. However, I definitely recommend taking a look at it if you want a unique take on a black peacoat.

Shoulders lumpy, fabric super ribbed & shiny.

I absolutely adore shopping at Bluefly (what selection!!) and thought this coat looked great online. I love all the details you get about the products on the Bluefly website, and I selected this Andrew Marc coat because I liked the styling, I love the designer, and I was searching for a slightly longer peacoat... I have tons of black wool coats (you can never have too many!) and specifically wanted a peacoat in this length (27"-29" from back collar to tail of coat). Unfortunately, although the length was awesome, the wool had a very distinct ribbed pattern which I thought looked slightly cheap, because it was a little shiny. The coat was a little on the thin side, too--I doubt it would be very warm. Still, I think I would have kept this coat except for the fact that the shoulders were super lumpy! There was some sort of padding in the shoulders, to give the shoulders shape. The padding resulted in an indentation just beneath the shoulder seam, where the arm of the coat is attached to the shoulder. I used to work for Pendleton Woolen Mills, which specializes in wool products, and from everything I learned when managing a retail store in Utah, when shoulders dent in, that is a sign of poor construction. I also felt that the shoulders and bust area fit slightly small. This may further explain the shoulder denting. The coat fit me perfectly otherwise. I bought the size 4, and I am 5'6" and weigh 125 lbs; my measurements are approximately 34"-27"-34." If I had bought a size up, the coat sleeves would have been too long, and the waist and hips would have been too big. I guess I would have to say that this coat has an odd fit. My advice: avoid this coat! Boo-hoo!
