Stunning Coat
This coat is the nicest I have ever owned. I purchased this one in black (the brown was not available when I was shopping) The price is a bit steep, but normally Shearling sells for twice the amount. (Check out other websites) The shearling that Blue Duck uses is particularly costly due to the fact it is the made of the top 10% of Spanish Merino. Spanish Merino is the finest wool available. Duck uses the top 10% exclusively in their coats. It is def an investment, but it won't disappoint! The coat is extremely classy, flattering and versatile. The coat is constructed in such a way it accounts where seams fall. This one has a figure flattering empire waist. All the other shearling coats I saw for sale, the seam plants itself right across the hips. (Ug - I dont know about all the rest of you, but I don't want any more emphasis there :-P) Due to the fact it was suede / shearling, I was initially worried it would be very heavy /cumbersome or that the fleece would be itchy. So not true!! My former coat of choice was your standard issue NY wool pea coat. After comparing the two, my old wool trench is like wearing a fabric stove pipe. The outside suede of this coat is as the soft as the muzzle of a horse's nose. The merino fleece is like having the jacket lined with plush velvet. It is super warm and completely blocks out wind. It is very well made and extremely light weight especially considering it is leather. It is very easy to move around in than most regular wool / puff coats. As far as size /fit, most of clothes I own are size small. After reading the reviews, I decided on the Medium. I still have some room to wear sweaters underneath. Hopefully, bluefly will stock more of these beautiful pieces. If they do, I would not hesitate to jump on the opportunity. These jackets retail just under 2K on other sites. A solid coat in NY winters is a requirement. Again, this one is an investment, but it certainly fits the bill!
