T Smith Knowles Vintage African Patchwork Bag #1031
Vintage African Kuba Democratic Republic of the Congo leather bag made from Italian calfskin leather. Gorgeous potato sack fabric patchwork detailing on fron that is from 1970. Embroidered pattern stitched on leather long strap. Italian suede and Italian leather fringe trimming around top opening and down one side of the bag. Vintage African bronze bauble and vintage African trade beads detailing at each upper side. Inside is all Italian leather with two pouch pockets. Hand woven and dyed textile. This bag is completely handmade. T Smith Knowles is a native Californian who is a sculptor and fine artist. Her experimentation of her creativity led her to play around with wearable art conceived and executed with the same creative force as her sculpture or paintings. Her fashionable designs are lightweight, with no heavy hardware to weight them down, and are made from all natural and authentically vintage. Materials used include vintage leathers, semi-precious and precious stones and antique beads. Every stitch and detailing is hand fashioned, making each bag uniquely one-of-a-kind. Each piece is an original work of art.
