Founded in 2002 by designer Geren Lockhart after graduating from Parsons, Geren Ford’s signature look is inspired by the beauty and fascinations that Lockhart has experienced during her worldly travels. Drawing from the art, film, music and architecture in cities across the globe, Lockhart has translated these influences into beautifully unique garments that explore the realms of both fashion and factuality. Raised by artist parents during the Bohemian art scene of the late 70’s and early 80’s, Lockhart’s childhood was shared between the faced paced SoHo district of New York and California’s Bay Area. This split allowed Lockhart to appreciate and incorporate diversity in her designs from an early age, and eventually influenced the open minded approach to fashion that Lockhart utilizes in her pieces today. With elegantly minimalist silhouettes and impeccable attention to detail, Geren Ford’s designs create an aesthetic of classic modernism that culminates into a sophisticated and highly wearable collection.
