Lux Fit&Quality, BEST Touchscreen, True to Size
I have only owned them for about a week but I have only positive comments. The leather has a luxurious feel (smooth, well-oiled, so no dry "cracks" appear when you move your fingers or make a fist). I've tested them in light-moderate Seattle rain (for up to 30 minutes) and the water did not permeate the leather or cause the gloves to get soft or stretched out. I mention this because I've been disappointed in the past by gloves that deteriorated quickly when exposed to snow or rain because the leather used hasn't been sufficiently treated. The gloves are well-constructed and I feel very optimistic this pair will last longer than just a season or two!

I was concerned about sizing, so I submitted a question to bluefly about how to measure and whether Portolano runs large or small. I was told they run true to size, and I agree. I followed their instructions for taking glove measurements and based on that, I my glove size is 7-1/2 (which is a L). They fit "like a glove!" I hate when gloves are too short and leave my wrist exposed (I have long hands as well as long arms) but for an everyday glove, I didn't want a long glove. This style solves my problem: they come down over my wrist and overlap with a long sleeve jacket or shirt.

The dark brown-black color is very rich. I was worried about how that would contrast against my black down jacket, but the gloves work very well with it. The cashmere lining is exactly what I expected: thin but strong and very soft. I'd describe the color of the lining as 'oatmeal'(see photo).

The touchscreen feature exceeded my expectations - the "high tech leather string" makes it much easier for me to execute a task without a hassle than my previous touch-screen gloves which had the tiny clear button on the exterior.

Highly recommend the dark brown gloves (actually, I am glad I went for the cheaper pair and didn't wind up with black). I'm surprised how lightweight and delicate yet warm they are. That said, I cannot vouch for how the this pair of gloves would be in climates much colder than Seattle (40-50 degrees F).
