Great 80's Prom Dress!

Super cute, classic shape that fits tru to size. The shimmer and pleats reminded me of an 80's prom dress, not in a terrible Pretty in Pink" way. Bought it for a wedding, didn't feel over or under dressed.

I loved the color and the concept of this dress, but the actual article of clothing didn't do anything for me. I'm 5'6" and 137 lbs, hourglass figure, and the medium made me look pretty shapeless. It seemed to fit correctly, but I think the pleating adds too much extra fabric in the torso and hips. The result is not very flattering on me, but perhaps it would work for a different body type? Sadly, I think I have to return this dress.

So, following the sizing guidelines, I ordered a small instead of an XS. Boy, should I have ordered DOWN. The dress' layers/rouching isn't the most flattering. The layers "move," not static, so sometimes they can get bunchy. I'm going to have to have the waist taken in about an inch and a half, because if not, I look like I'm wearing a shiny trashbag. I wish I'd ordered two sizes and returned one, but now it's too late. The boning is a little sharp inside, I'll see if I can have a tailor remove the boning. I thought the neckline would be more flattering as well, but it's kind of "blah," even with the little 'wing' at the top right corner. Oh well, we'll see if we can make improvements!

I thought the material would be nicer. This dress was hard to get on and it was tight around the waist. I expected to really like it - but was disappointed.
