`Casual, Comfortable, and Luxurious'. This motto can be seen and felt in every piece throughout the Joie collection. From signature cargos to feminine tops and dresses, CEO and creative director, Serge Azria, maintains a So-Cal, laid-back attitude that is chic and carefree at the same time.
I have to be honest -- when I opened the box I was terribly dismayed because the item in the box did not appear as I remembered, or as nice as I remembered. It was the day before Christmas. I had no choice but to gift the item and offer that the recipient could exchange it.
On Christmas day I gifted it and the recipient thought it was OK. I dont think she was thrilled but I think she didnt want to go through the hassle of exchanging. (Do note: I think that BlueFly has a great exchange policy.)
She did put it on, and it certainly did look better on than straight out of the box... but I think that this item is not really as special as you may think it could be.
I wouldn't purchase one for myself.

I could hardly get my foot into the boot much less zip them up. The tie on the back of the boot really ruins the look and makes them look cheap.

awkward fit

I've been looking at this skirt, wanting to buy it but waiting for the price to be reduced, for over a year now--literally. I'd been wondering for quite some time why it hadn't sold out. I finally bought it last week, and I'm not wondering anymore. I've never put on a skirt that fit me so poorly. In the picture it looks like the skirt hangs fairly straight down from the waist, or perhaps that it poofs out a bit just below the waist and then hang straight down, but what the skirt actually does is BALLOON out from the waist in a way that I wouldn't have imagined this fabric could. The waist itself is tight (not necessarily too much so, but probably tighter than I would have preferred). Just below the waist the skirt flares out, and it continues flaring right down to the bottom. It does NOT hang straight down the way it does in the photo. I'd describe the silhouette of the skirt as reminiscent of the skirt worn by plastic ballerinas in little girls' jewelry boxes.
I have a high waist and high hips, so "curvy" jeans/pants and other articles of clothing with room for women's hips built into them generally don't fit me very well, but I couldn't imagine this skirt looking very nice on anyone, regardless of body type.
The quality of the fabric/stitching/etc. is good, though.
Joie can always be counted for a feminine approach to blousing. This dainty and delicate silk blouse is simple. Scoop neck. Drapey short sleeves. A hem with 3" vent at both sides. Made in China. In pearl. Fabric: 100% silk
