Shumaq is an eco-friendly, socially responsible, women centric brand that specializes in chic, contemporary fashion. Started in 2005 by Peruvian sisters Vanessa and Jacqueline Barrantes, the collection is heavily rooted in their mutual love of fashion and Peruvian culture. Even the name itself, Shumaq, means ''beautiful'' in Peru's indigenous language of Quechua. With inherently feminine styles and gorgeous textiles and embellishments, the look is sophisticated with a beautifully playful edge. Each design is handcrafted in Peru by women artisans, making each piece of the collection truly unique. Specializing in fabulous cocktail dresses with sophisticated twist, these coveted designs are created for a good cause, which only makes every style that much more desirable!

The quality and colour of this dress is really nice. Hides the imperfections of my stomach and sits really nicely. Only thing wrong is that I have pretty broad shoulders and the ruffles make them look a bit bigger as well. That was probably my fault, for not realising it but other than that this dress is lovely!

This dress is super cute. The only complaint I have is the sizing. I usually wear a size 0 but this one is still a little bit on the big side. Might be due to my petite build (im 5'2). Also, I wish the back was more open since the front is very high-necked. Otherwise its a great piece!
