Native New Yorker, Vera Wang, founded her namesake company in 1990 after spending 16 years as a fashion editor at Vogue and later as Design Director of women's accessories at Ralph Lauren. With the instantaneous success of her now notorious bridal line, Wang launched her ready-to-wear collection in 2004. Keeping her silhouettes long and lean and playing with the textural quality of different fabrics, Wang has been able to effortlessly capture the modern, romantic woman of today.
This dress was so beautiful, I really hashed it out with my seamstress (Mom) whether it could be altered. But it was about a yard too long, and, despite being a halter top style, was WAY too tight in the bust. I returned it, unaltered but unhappily, before I could be tempted any further to make the modifications I'd need!

I do like the dress very much but was slightly disappointed the fabric was a little too stiff as I'd imagined it would be a softer silk. Although it says dryclean only, I am tempted to handwash it in the hope it softens up a little.

Pretty, but not flattering.

While this dress looked well made and the fabric was beautiful, it wasn't flattering and it made me feel like I was wearing pajamas. I am 5'3" and was swimming in the size 2. This dress may work on a tall, curvier person, but I had to return it.

Belt was missing! The dress has an odd fit. The smocking creates a "tube top" look, and there are side pleats at the hips that make hips appear large. The silk is thin, and overall the dress does not have a quality look. Returned.
